Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking an OR RN (Registered Nurse) to join our team for an assignment in Herrin, IL within the Healthcare & Medical Services industry. As a key member of the perioperative team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Working in partnership with hospitals and medical centers in the Herrin area, you will help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical interventions. In this role, you will perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, verify consents, review patient histories, and prepare patients for surgery according to established protocols. During procedures, you will function as a circulating and/or scrub nurse, manage the sterile field, support the surgical team, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure that all supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and properly utilized. You will monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process, maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, and adhere strictly to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, respond to changes in patient condition, and support optimal surgical outcomes. Postoperatively, you will assist with patient recovery, pain management, and patient and family education regarding discharge instructions and follow-up care. Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential, as is a commitment to patient advocacy and high ethical standards.
