Location: NYC

Compensation: up to $1.5 million cash compensation

Our client, a growing hedge fund is seeking a GC/CCO to lead the firm's legal & compliance function

Responsibilities:

• Draft compliance policies and procedures and advise senior leadership on compliance issues
• Interface with regulators and handle regulatory communications, including regulatory examinations
• Draft and submit regulatory filings such as Form ADV, 13Fs, 13Ds, 13Gs, etc
• Work with third-party software developers to extend and improve automated compliance-related systems
• Review and approve marketing materials, including pitchbooks and responses to due diligence requests
• Review vendor contracts, prepare side letters, draft ISDA agreements
• Assess legal and regulatory risks

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree and JD with strong academic credentials
2. 10+ years of related work experience
3. Understanding of key regulatory frameworks applicable to the business, including those enforced by the SEC
4. Superior attention to detail and ability to follow through on and manage fact and data-intensive projects
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment
6. Desire to work independently, including independently identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues
