Olympic Sports Nutrition Intern The Sports Nutrition Intern position provides experiential learning and sports nutrition practice in the collegiate setting. Initial experiences for the intern will be geared towards exposing the individual to all areas of Georgia Sports Nutrition operations and assisting full‑time sports dietitians with all Olympic Sport team fueling and player management. Then, the intern will transition to full team coverage and responsibilities with experience and mastery. Responsibilities Gain exposure and experience with all Olympic Sports teams and departmental services Provide sport‑specific nutrition education to teams and engage in individual nutrition counseling with student‑athletes Manage fueling stations for team sites, weight room, and centralized department sites Assist in managing undergraduate student interns and volunteers Oversee product and inventory management including receiving, deliveries, and storage room organization, including Fueling Station maintenance and quality/food safety standards Assist with Training Table meals and planning pre‑competition and recovery meals, and provide counsel for proper nutrient timing and plate coaching Facilitate departmental nutrition education, campaigns, and social media outreach Perform body composition assessment using BodPod and DXA technologies Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate nutritional supplements Qualifications Knowledge of rules and regulations of athletic governing bodies and nutritional supplements, anthropometric measurements, and food service quality and safety Self‑motivated and works independently, yet understands the collaborative and dynamic work setting of sports nutrition in college athletics Management experience, organizational and technical skill, and good attention to detail Physical Demands Will work nights and weekends Lift heavy objects, up to 40lbs Equal Opportunity Employer The University of Georgia is an Equal Opportunity employer.
