Job Summary

Turnip Green Creative Reuse is governed by a Board of Directors that works with the Executive Director to carry out our mission of fostering sustainability, creativity, and community through reuse. Directors are elected and serve a term of two years. The annual commitment for a board member is to attend 6 board meetings, serve on a committee, attend events, communicate outside of meetings through email and phone, financially contribute or fundraise, and be an ambassador for TGCR in the community.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Board of Directors:

• Ensure effective organizational planning
• Support the Executive Director and review their performance
• Determine and monitor the organization’s programs and services
• Enhance the community’s understanding and view of the organization
• Financially contribute and fundraise for the organization in a meaningful way
• Provide strategic guidance and direct the organization’s vision and mission and review management’s performance in achieving it
• Review and approve the organization’s’ annual budget and approve major actions of the organization such as capital expenditures on all projects over authorized limits and major changes in programs and services
• Other duties as needed and outlined in the Board of Directors Handbook

Qualifications

Dependent on experience. We are looking to expand in many ways: arts, sustainability, finances, development/fundraising, community development, etc.
