Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pharmacist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 05/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Travel Pharmacist – Oncology Infusion | Day Shift | Outpatient We are seeking an experienced Travel Pharmacist to support an outpatient oncology infusion center. This role offers a strong clinical focus in a structured, patient-centered environment with consistent weekday scheduling. Job Overview Specialty: Pharmacist (Oncology / Infusion) Schedule: 5x8s (Day Shift) Shift: Monday – Friday, typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (some flexibility as early as 7:00 AM) Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Setting: Outpatient Infusion Center Responsibilities Prepare and verify chemotherapy and infusion medications Perform sterile compounding in compliance with USP standards Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous medications Provide pharmacotherapy management across a variety of disease states Collaborate with oncology providers, nurses, and care teams Perform medication reconciliation and patient counseling Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards Requirements Active Pharmacist license (must be in hand prior to submission) BLS certification required Chemotherapy and sterile compounding experience required Experience with IV preparation (IV push, IV piggyback, hazardous drugs) Strong understanding of oncology pharmacotherapy Ability to work independently in an outpatient setting Preferred Qualifications Infusion center experience (strongly preferred) Oncology or inpatient oncology experience Experience with Epic and Pyxis systems Previous travel experience Strong clinical and communication skills Additional Details Monday–Friday schedule with minimal weekend/holiday rotation No on-call requirements No floating required First-time travelers accepted Locals accepted Will consider home infusion or inpatient oncology backgrounds Infusion center experience is strongly preferred Must have chemotherapy and sterile compounding experience Virginia license required at time of submission Epic experience preferred Non-billable modules required prior to start About Care Career Care Career brings together a portfolio of leading healthcare staffing organizations, each delivering specialized talent solutions across the industry.
