Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated OR RN (Registered Nurse) for a rewarding opportunity in Mattoon, IL within the Healthcare & Medical Services industry. As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care to surgical patients in a hospital or surgical center setting. Working as part of a collaborative surgical team, you will provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-anesthesia support, ensuring that each patient receives compassionate, evidence-based care throughout the surgical experience. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing the operating room and equipment, verifying patient identity and surgical site, reviewing consents, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. You will assist the surgeon and anesthesia team during procedures by circulating or scrubbing as needed, maintaining a sterile environment, managing instruments and supplies, and continuously monitoring the patient’s status. You will advocate for your patients by anticipating needs, addressing concerns, and communicating clearly with patients and families before and after surgery. The OR RN will document all aspects of patient care accurately in the electronic medical record, follow infection control and hospital policies, and support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, PACU staff, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans, manage changing priorities, and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies or changes in patient condition.
