Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced OR RN (Registered Nurse) for an assignment in Herrin, IL within the Healthcare & Medical Services industry. In this role, you will work in a hospital-based environment, providing high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. The OR RN will be responsible for completing thorough preoperative assessments, verifying patient identity, procedure, and surgical site, and confirming consents in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. During surgery, you will circulate and/or scrub as assigned, maintain a sterile field, manage surgical instruments and supplies, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote optimal procedural flow. You will monitor the patient’s physiological status, document all aspects of care in the electronic medical record, and respond promptly to any changes in condition. Postoperatively, you will coordinate the safe transfer of patients to the PACU, provide comprehensive handoff communication, and participate in postoperative assessments as needed. This position requires strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, along with proficiency in OR standards and infection prevention practices. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment, prioritizing multiple demands while maintaining patient safety and adhering to facility protocols and AORN guidelines.
