Contract/Contract-to-Hire Litigation Attorney

Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: $80 to $90/hour

Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire, Hybrid (3 days onsite)

LHH is working with a well-established civil litigation defense firm located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles in seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to step into active cases and contribute immediately.

Responsibilities
  • Independently manage civil litigation cases from inception through resolution
  • Draft high-quality legal briefs, motions, and discovery (strong writing skills required; law review experience highly preferred)
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Handle discovery disputes, including drafting motions to compel and protective orders
  • Conduct meet and confer communications and manage discovery compliance
  • Step into ongoing cases while lead attorneys are in trial
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances as needed
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation
  • Excellent legal writing and research skills (law review experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases independently
  • Experience handling depositions, discovery disputes, and court appearances
  • Strong communication and case management skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running and integrate quickly into ongoing litigation matters
