Honeywell DCS Applications Engineer

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Honeywell DCS Applications Engineer experienced in the Energy and Chemical sectors to join our Deer Park, Texas team. The preferred candidate will possess 5+ years of relevant experience and must be authorized to work in the United States.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized consultation for the design, development, and implementation of Honeywell Experion Distributed Control Systems (DCS) within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries.
• Collaborate closely with clients to ensure technically robust design solutions.
• Develop advanced process control applications.
• Prepare comprehensive scoping, design, and commissioning documentation for DCS systems.
• Create DCS graphics based on P&ID’s, operational requirements, and client specifications.
• Manage migration of applications across DCS hardware platforms, focusing primarily on the Honeywell range of control systems.
• Develop customized Cutover Procedures to facilitate migration projects.

 

Requirements:

• Proficient knowledge of Honeywell DCS control systems and field instrumentation in industrial settings.
• Demonstrated experience within the Petro-Chemical/Refining industry.
• Expertise in Honeywell DCS tools and software; familiarity with Trace is advantageous.
• Capable of monitoring and updating applications in live production environments.
• Ability to develop custom logic applications based on client requirements.
• Skill in preparing Control Narratives to support design activities.
• Experience integrating applications and configuring communication links between DCS and third-party systems such as PLCs.
• Effective in both independent and team-based work at client sites.
• Competence in producing technical and status reports for projects.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Honeywell Hardware/Software (TDC, Experion, C-300).
• Proficiency with Honeywell Control Builder, DOC4000, and SignalMatch.
• Experience with Yokogawa, Foxboro, or other DCS systems is considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills to foster productivity and mutual respect.
