Role Description

The Group Hospitality is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Events to lead and elevate our events operation. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving revenue, delivering exceptional client experiences, and building a best-in-class events team across our portfolio of venues and properties.

What You'll Do

Sales & business development

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of corporate, social, and branded event clients
  • Drive aggressive outbound sales efforts to grow event revenue across all restaurant concepts and cities
  • Develop promotional packages, seasonal offerings, and partnership initiatives to grow bookings
  • Meet or exceed revenue targets and deliver monthly and quarterly forecasts

Market strategy & expansion

  • Identify untapped markets and missed opportunities, developing tailored go-to-market strategies for each city
  • Create a cohesive multi-city event strategy, including pricing structures, capacity standards, menu frameworks, and service models

Event product & experience design

  • Partner with Culinary and Operations to develop concept-appropriate event menus, experiences, and capabilities
  • Ensure flawless, high-touch guest experiences that reflect The Group Hospitality's brand standards
  • Process, enablement & tooling
  • Develop scalable processes, SOPs, and toolkits for the event team and restaurant leadership
  • Oversee the full event lifecycle from inquiry to contract, planning, day-of execution, and post-event follow-up

Team leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing events team, including event sales managers as growth allows
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to exceed sales targets and provide best-in-class service
  • Cross-functional collaboration & stakeholder management
  • Foster strong relationships with GMs, chefs, and market leaders to align event operations with daily service
  • Act as escalation point for high-profile and VIP clients
  • Support Operations with training and execution standards for private dining across markets

Revenue management & performance

  • Partner with Finance to evaluate pricing, margin performance, and revenue optimization
  • Meet or exceed revenue targets and deliver monthly and quarterly forecasts
  • Work closely with Marketing to build event-specific collateral, digital assets, and campaigns

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of events management experience within upscale hospitality, restaurants, or a related field
  • Proven track record of driving events revenue and managing large-scale, high-profile events across multiple cities
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relations skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require

$100 - $120k/yr + Commission + Bonus
