Job Description

The Summer School Title I Educational Technician will provide essential support to students currently in grades Kindergarten through grade four as part of a summer school program from July 6, 2026, to July 30, 2026. This role is crucial in fostering an engaging and positive learning environment that enhances the educational experience for all students. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Salary: Hourly Rate Based on SFT Bargaining Contract


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Summer School Title I Teacher in implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with instructional goals.
  • Organize and distribute classroom supplies and materials effectively to support student learning.
  • Support student supervision in the classroom and during transitions, addressing and managing behavior concerns promptly to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers.
  • Support family engagement activities designed to involve parents and guardians in the educational process and strengthen community ties.
  • Provide feedback through program surveys for continuous improvement of the program.
Qualifications
  • Valid Maine State Educational Technician Certification.
  • Valid ESEA Credential.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting, particularly in programs serving Title I populations, is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to assist in adapting lessons to meet diverse student needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with students, families, and staff.
  • Ability to manage student behavior effectively and help create a supportive learning environment.
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction strategies and engaging teaching methods.
