The Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (Community Engagement) supports The Walt Disney Company's charitable giving efforts. This position is focused on New York community engagement and includes work in other key markets, namely Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing strategies that strengthen Disney's presence, reputation, and positive impact within local communities. This includes leading nonprofit partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts that support The Walt Disney Company's business, public affairs, and social impact priorities, as well as collaborating with the Disney VoluntEARS team on employee volunteerism and events. A key aspect of the role includes collaborating and aligning with partners across the business, including WABC. You will serve as a strategic thought partner across business segments and ensure all community engagement efforts reflect Disney's long-term commitment to creating meaningful social impact in the communities in which we operate.
This role will report to Director, Corporate Social Responsibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New York City Community Engagement Leadership
Implement and steward community engagement strategies tailored to the unique cultural and civic landscape of New York City and Disney's presence in the market. This includes:
Strategic Leadership & Program Implementation
Lead and implement comprehensive community engagement initiatives aligned with TWDC's social impact strategy and business priorities.
Collaborate and communicate with business segment partners in the market, serving as a strategic hub and thought partner.
Socialize and secure alignment on strategies that strengthen Disney's community impact.
Identify opportunities to deepen community relationships and expand impact through partnerships, grants, volunteerism, and events.
Oversee program measurement and reporting, and collaborate with Communications team on impact storytelling, to highlight the value of community initiatives.
Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and manage high-impact relationships with nonprofits, community leaders, cultural institutions, and other organizations.
Evaluate new and existing partnership opportunities for strategic alignment, brand fit, and measurable outcomes.
Represent Disney at community events, fundraisers, and industry forums and manage event attendance on behalf of the company to advance the company's presence and leadership in the community.
Employee Engagement & Events
Partner with VoluntEARS, Internal Communications, and HR teams to support employee, skills-based volunteer programs, and company-wide events.
Execute VoluntEARS activations in the market as needed in support of Burbank-based Global VoluntEARS team.
Identify and help to facilitate meaningful opportunities for employees to contribute to the company's social impact efforts in the local community.
Charitable Grant & In-Kind Administration
Manage and issue charitable grants to nonprofit organizations, including nonprofit relationship management, obtaining and/or developing grant documentation, CyberGrants processes, and payment logistics.
Manage and issue in-kind donations to external nonprofit partners and maintain associated internal systems.
Manage program budget including vendor management and invoice processing, charitable grants, and reporting.
Community Engagement in Other Markets
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Government Relations, and cross-enterprise CSR and Community Engagement teams, including Disney Entertainment, WABC and ESPN, to align and maximize charitable efforts.
Work together with cross-enterprise CSR and Community Engagement teams on integrations, events, onsite support with live shows, and day-of support with key initiatives.
Work closely with Communications team to support storytelling efforts around community engagement initiatives.
Consult and support business segments on local community engagement needs related to events, on-air coverage, and activations.
Provide expert guidance on community considerations during project planning and crisis response situations.
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of experience in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, public affairs, philanthropy, or nonprofit program management
Knowledge of and/or experience in community relations in New York City
Understanding of and/or work experience in the media sector
Proven ability to design and execute large-scale community programs with measurable impact
Strong relationship-building skills and experience collaborating with varied stakeholders across corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors
Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities
Experience managing budgets, grants, and program measurement/reporting tools
Experience leading cross-functional working groups
Knowledge of philanthropic best practices and nonprofit governance
Ability to handle sensitive community issues with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment
Solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to think differently while problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in CyberGrants and SAP
Knowledge of or experience in community relations in Washington, D.C.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $145,800.00 to $195,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
