Requirements / Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing with a talent for storytelling. Bachelor’s degree in fisheries or related field with strong foundation in science communication, or a degree in communications with a focus on fisheries, ecology, or similar fields. Minimum of 3 years of experience in science communications and/or research. Solid understanding of fisheries science, natural resource management, and conservation. Proven success with public-facing media content and executing marketing and communication strategies with measurable outcomes. Experience or knowledge of SEO and google analytics. Key Responsibilities: Spearhead our weekly newsletter, the Fish Report. Craft, refine, and copyedit engaging public-facing content for target specific audiences including outreach and marketing materials. Update WordPress website pages and ensure contents are accurate, engaging, and formatted correctly. Develop and execute fresh and strategic communications plans. Maintain a high standard of writing and editing and ensure cohesive messaging and effective execution of communication strategies across various platforms. Assist in content development and support educational outreach initiatives as needed. Location: Chico, CA or Oakdale, CA; Potential for remote work in California. To be eligible for remote work, applicant must be within driving distance to the Chico and/or Oakdale office for trainings and fieldwork.
