SUMMARY: Weighs inbound and outbound loads, directs patrons to assigned dumping areas, and collects fees and signatures.

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Weighs all inbound and outbound vehicles; collects required fees and signatures; examines all loads and screens for special fee items and banned items; directs traffic to proper dumping area.
- Reconciles cash drawer; prepares daily deposit and reports.
- Acts as back-up Scale Master in his/her absence.
- Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Up to 1 year of experience involving customer service and cash handling.
- OR equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications: - CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Required Knowledge of: - Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
- County and Department policies and procedures.
- Principles and applications of basic math.
Required Skills in: - Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely
- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment.
- Providing quality customer service.
- Familiarity with contractors and proper disposal procedures.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: - Work is performed throughout the Scale House and dumping areas; requires constant physical efforts, and may be exposed to dangerous chemicals, tools, and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment.
Pay Range: $23.38 - $26.30 per hour
