LifeBridge Health, a regional healthcare organization in Maryland, is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across a variety of settings, including acute care units, emergency departments, intensive care units, and outpatient or community-based programs. You will perform assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions that support optimal pulmonary function, partnering closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. As a Respiratory Therapist with LifeBridge Health, you will conduct and interpret diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and pulse oximetry; initiate and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation; administer aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy; and assist with airway management, including intubation support and tracheostomy care. You will carefully monitor patient response to therapy, adjust treatment plans based on clinical findings and provider orders, and document all care in the electronic medical record with accuracy and timeliness. You will play a key role in patient and family education, helping individuals understand their respiratory conditions, medications, equipment use (such as inhalers, nebulizers, and home oxygen), and strategies for managing chronic lung disease. You will collaborate with care managers and other disciplines to support safe discharges, transitions of care, and community-based follow-up, contributing to reduced readmissions and improved long-term outcomes. Working within a culture that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, you will participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice projects, and departmental performance measures aimed at delivering safe, high-quality, and efficient respiratory care. You may precept new staff or students, contribute to continuing education efforts, and provide input on protocols, equipment selection, and workflow enhancements. You will comply with all regulatory standards, infection prevention policies, and safety procedures while maintaining equipment and supplies in optimal working condition. LifeBridge Health offers opportunities for career advancement and professional development, including specialty training in critical care, pediatrics, and advanced diagnostic procedures. As a member of our team, you will join colleagues who are dedicated to compassionate patient care and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery, making a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of the diverse communities we serve.
