Description HVAC Mechanic A Brief Overview Performs a wide range of maintenance duties, primarily HVAC in nature. Includes minor mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry work as required for maintenance of Holy Name Medical Center. What you will do Maintains hospital equipment such as beds, furniture, kitchen equipment, sterilizers, nurse call system, HVAC systems, domestic water, sanitary and utility distribution systems. Performs preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment as directed in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Responds to requests for temperature adjustments throughout the hospital. Responds to requests at offsite locations as needed as first look for minor repairs. Has a knowledge of the Johnson Control Metasys building automation system to make adjustments and troubleshoot HVAC systems. Understands and adheres to safety standards and practices. Maintains a clean work area. Operates a variety of power equipment and tools to complete the assigned tasks. Assists in maintaining adequate stock required for maintenance functions and advises supervisor of stock deficiencies. Physically able to complete tasks involving reaching, stooping, bending, extensive walking, ladder and scaffolding work. Follows directions and established procedures. Moves household and hospital furniture and supplies as needed. Understands and is able to execute role in fire and disaster drills and situations. Performs related duties as assigned.
