Job Description

Qualifications

Must be trained by a Histologic Technology HT (ASCP) or a person of the same experience in training. Functioning and working under the direct supervision of a certified histo-technician or pathologist in histology. The assistant should be trained in all aspects of histology procedures.

Experience

One (1) year of on the job training and experience as a Histologic Technician Assistant.

Purpose

Receives and logs, processes, cuts and stains surgical specimens, making slides of highest quality to aid Pathologist in making accurate diagnoses of presence or absence of disease, under the direction of the Histologic Technician and Pathlogist.

Work Environment

Hosptial / clinical laboratory environment.

Safety Sensitive Designation:

This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
