About the Role:

The Driver position is critical to ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods within the wholesale trade industry across the United States. This role involves operating commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks to deliver products to various destinations while adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The driver will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in good working condition, planning efficient routes, and managing delivery schedules to optimize transportation management. Safety, compliance, and professionalism are paramount, as the driver represents the company during all interactions with clients and regulatory authorities. Ultimately, this role ensures that the supply chain operates smoothly by delivering goods reliably and efficiently, supporting overall business success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
  • Proven experience in truck driving, specifically with box trucks.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.
  • Strong understanding of transportation management principles and delivery logistics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the wholesale trade industry or similar sectors.
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience interacting with clients during deliveries.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial vehicles including dump trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
  • Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of commercial vehicles.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and GPS technology to meet delivery schedules and reduce transit times.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transport.
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
