Job Summary:

A night porter/janitor works overnight hours to maintain, clean, and secure commercial properties, hotels, or residential buildings. Their duties include deep cleaning (floors, restrooms), waste removal, and sometimes light maintenance or guest services, acting as a custodian for the facility after hours.

pay hourly: $16.00-18.00

Work schedule Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday shifts (6pm-2am)

Key Responsibilities

• Deep Cleaning: Performing tasks disruptive to daytime business, such as mopping, vacuuming, and floor waxing.
• Facility Maintenance: Tidying common areas, cleaning restrooms, and managing trash/recycling.
• Security & Safety: Locking doors, monitoring premises, and sometimes reporting maintenance issues or handling overnight emergencies.
• Hospitality/Service: In hotel settings, they may handle late check-ins and assist guests.

Work Environment & Requirements

• Schedule: Generally, late-night to early-morning shifts.
• Physical Demands: Requires walking, standing, lifting (sometimes up to 100+ lbs), and working with cleaning chemicals.
• Skills: Ability to work autonomously, attention to detail, and a focus on safety.

Night porters in hotels may have more customer-facing duties, while night janitors often focus strictly on cleaning and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to handle physical workload

• Strong communication skills
• Being able to pass background check and a drug screening
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
• Reliable car and smartphone
