About the Role
The Company is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors. The ideal candidates will have expertise in areas such as health care and human services, social work, fundraising and development, legal, marketing, communications, public relations, or human resources. Board Members play a crucial role in overseeing the organization's policy and strategic direction, assisting with leadership, and promoting the mission of the company in the community. Responsibilities include attending regular board meetings, serving on a committee, making a minimum annual financial contribution, and actively participating in fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement. Board Members are also expected to be goodwill ambassadors, leveraging their networks to expand the organization's reach, and to support the mission, programs, and strategic initiatives of the company.
The successful candidates will be part of a dedicated team that is committed to the mental and physical well-being of individuals impacted by cancer. The company offers a variety of free programs and services, including short-term supportive counseling, support groups, community connections, creative expression, education, health and wellness activities, and social events. The Board of Directors is instrumental in ensuring that the company can continue to grow its programs, expand community partnerships, and maintain the highest quality of psychosocial support for its members across the region.
